GENESYS 2007.03 SP1 is now shipping. It is available for download to all customers with active support contracts and to holders of Demo Tickets.

Supported Operating Systems

GENESYS 2007.03 SP1 supports Windows 2000, Windows XP (32 and 64), Windows Vista, and Windows Server 2003.

Known Bugs

When loading a WhatIF file created in a version prior to 2007.03 SP1 that uses a table mixer the output data will be incorrect after clicking ‘Apply’. This problem is a result of cached data whose low level format changed in 2007.03 SP1. The remedy is to click the ‘Type’ tab in WhatIF after loading the file in 2007.03 SP1 and then click each mixer image. This will delete the old cache for each mixer.

In some cases custom symbols may have changed the drawing order, covering parts of the symbol. The workaround is to edit the symbol and force drawing of the non-part annotation items. If you have this issue and can not resolve it please contact technical support for more help”.

A path with ‘Force path through switch state’ disabled will not be found when appearing in the same system analysis with ‘Force path through switch state’ enabled if the switch state enable path appears first in the path list. To remedy this problem add all paths with disabled switch states first before adding the enabled ones.

The is a small leak that is most noticeable during an optimization run. If the optimization runs for a long time GENESYS will eventually run out of memory and close without allowing you to save. The only workarounds are: either quit and restart the optimization every 20 minutes or so or revert to pre-SP1. This will be resolved in the next release.

Licensing with Microsoft WindowsVista

CrypKey is not compatible with Windows Vista so Evaluation Licensing will not work.

The GENESYS ADS Style Licensing Preference tool does not work under Vista. If you need to use ADS Style Licensing with GENESYS you will need to manually update the registry with the bundle name that is included in your license file. You need to add a string value to the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eagleware\GENESYS2007.03\Author with the name "ADS Preference" and value of the bundle in the license file.

Normal GENESYS style licensing works under Windows Vista.

Autoload spice libraries at start

SP1 now loads all of the GENESYS nonlinear spice part libraries by default. The model libraries are loaded on-demand but you will note a much longer part list with SP1.

PLL and TLINE improve licensing

PLL and TLINE should now work with any licensed version of GENESYS 2007.03 SP1.

SPECTRASYS

Resolved an issue in Spectrasys calculating intermod power measurements when input and output impedance differ.

Add warnings for Adjacent channel with negative frequencies and negative channel bandwidths.

Resolved two issues with ADC's. Resolved input capacitance being incorrect and added a warning when crossing Nyquist zones.

Resolved rare case where intermod phase was calculated incorrectly.

Resolved noise calculations in linear subcircuits.

Added a couple of noise points to wideband carriers to improve the noise resolution.

VerilogA

The supplied compiled VerilogA models now work without need for an AMK.

Equations

Resolved an issue where random number generation would be overriden during sweep plots.

Goto Labels

Resolved the issue with equations where Goto labels were incorrectly dealt with during tuning. All builtin models with goto's now work correctly.

Status Window won't close

The issue where the window would rarely not close is now resolved.

Graph

Improved legend display of line styles. Added none line styles to graphs. Resolved graph title color not changing.

Help

Added element help for NPOD, CPN, INDQ, VBICNPN5, VBICPNP5, CCCS, CPLX, IMP, TWO_SPLIT_GND, INP_IPWL, IAC_PN, SRL, INVERTER, NEGD1, NEGD2, GND, THRD, MRING, MUTIND, ISOLATOR, DIG_DIV, OPEN4TSTUB, SHORTED4TSTUB, IBITSTR, INP_PAC_PWLNOISE, INP_PWLNOISE, TLPX, TLE4_SPICE, Varactor, VARISTOR, VBITSTR.

Enhanced help for equations and MKS/Display discussion.

Measurement Wizard

Added Channel Noise Voltage, Node Noise Voltage, Equivalent Input Noise Voltage, Total Node Voltage, DC Voltage measurements.

Resolved issue where ZIN (and a few others) would incorrectly default to re() instead of mag() for rectangular charts.

Circuits

Improved subcircuit port usage to correctly handle balanced ports in subcircuits and improve port correlation with symbols.

Annotation

Added popdown menus for line thickness, line style, and arrowheads.

Added line style recognition to arcs.

Added harline to line widths.

SData files

Numerous SData files were tested and slightly repaired.

Models

The JFet model was improved to be DC symmetric.
