Installing Nodelocked Codewords on PC Systems
             (Hardware Key)
=============================================

The following instructions will guide you through the
steps to install your new nodelocked codewords.  If you
would like more detailed instructions, please refer to
Chapter 4 of the "Installation on PC Systems" guide.

Agilent EEsof EDA uses 2 different types of hardware keys.
If your hardware key has a FLEXID that starts with 36C7 or
B285, you are using a Sentinel SuperPro key.  If the FLEXID
of you hardware key starts with 8-5E70, then you are using
a Dallas dongle.  Codewords for both types of keys can be 
mixed in a single codeword file.

Instructions
------------

1. Save the attached license.dat file to your Agilent EEsof 
   EDA software installation directory.  For example:

      c:\AdvDesSys1.5\licenses\license.dat

2. Your license.dat file will look something like the following:

   These are simplified examples.  Yours may contain more
   INCREMENT lines.  For nodelocked licenses, the license.dat
   file will not contain SERVER or DAEMON lines.

   IMPORTANT NOTE: Always use Microsoft Notepad or the
   DOS editor to edit license.dat files.  Other editors
   may save extra information in the license.dat file
   making it invalid.

3. Make sure you have the correct hardware key attached to 
   the parallel port of your PC.

   For example, to use the licenses shown in the first example
   in step 2, you would need to have the Sentinel Hardware Key
   with FLEXID 7-3C670123 attached to parallel port 1 (LPT1:).
   To use the licenses in the second example, you would need to
   have the Dallas dongle with FLEXID 8-5E700060F5AF.

4. Load hardware key driver software.

   We recommend you use the latest hardware key drivers.  The 
   latest driver software is available from:

   Under the Hardware Key section you'll find a download for the
   hardware key drivers.  The download is approximately 3.08 MB 
   in size.  Once you have downloaded the file, execute
   the flexid.exe executable to install the necessary drivers.


5. You are now ready to use your Agilent EEsof EDA software.

Important Note About FLEXlm Software
------------------------------------
Always use the latest versions of lmgrd and hpeesofd
available.  As of ADS 1.5, the lmgrd and hpeesofd supplied
by Agilent EEsof EDA are v7.0g.  You may be able to get
a newer version of lmgrd from the Globetrotter Software
web site:

Agilent EEsof EDA is the only source for hpeesofd.  If you need
hpeesofd for any of the Agilent EEsof EDA supported platforms,

The latest versions of lmgrd and hpeesofd are always
backward compatible.  That is, all new versions of
lmgrd and hpeesofd are designed to work with software
that may have been designed using a previous version
of lmgrd and/or hpeesofd.
