Installing Nodelocked Codewords on PC Systems (Ethernet Address) ============================================= The following instructions will guide you through the steps to install your new nodelocked codewords. If you would like more detailed instructions, please refer to Chapter 4 of the "Installation on PC Systems" guide. The complete installation guide can be found on the web at: http://www.tm.agilent.com/tmo/hpeesof/support/supp150.html You should also review the important note about FLEXlm software at the end of these instructions. Instructions ------------ 1. Save the attached license.dat file to your Agilent EEsof EDA software installation directory. For example: c:\AdvDesSys1.5\licenses\license.dat 2. Your license.dat file should look something like this: INCREMENT Design_sync hpeesofd 1.5 14-sep-2002 0 \ BCCAF50775555C26AD93 VENDOR_STRING=s=00008645603E \ HOSTID=00008645603e INCREMENT Graphics_server hpeesofd 1.5 14-sep-2002 0 \ 4C6A956771201D1D40C3 VENDOR_STRING=s=00008645603E \ HOSTID=00008645603e INCREMENT Layout hpeesofd 1.5 14-sep-2002 0 \ BCEAA5079CD001D43FDE VENDOR_STRING=s=00008645603E \ HOSTID=00008645603e INCREMENT Schematic hpeesofd 1.5 14-sep-2002 0 \ 0CBAA5A7BBAA3DAFE733 VENDOR_STRING=s=00008645603E \ HOSTID=00008645603e INCREMENT System_freq hpeesofd 1.5 14-sep-2002 0 \ DC9A55874E4C8D6E7860 VENDOR_STRING=s=00008645603E \ HOSTID=00008645603e This is a simplified example. Yours may contain more INCREMENT lines. For nodelocked licenses, the license.dat file will not contain SERVER or DAEMON lines. IMPORTANT NOTE: Always use Microsoft Notepad or the DOS editor to edit license.dat files. Other editors may save extra information in the license.dat file making it invalid. 3. Make sure you are using the PC whose ethernet address is listed at the end of the INCREMENT lines. For example, to use the licenses shown in step 2, you would need to use the PC whose ethernet address is 00008645603e. You can check your PC's ethernet address as follows: Windows NT or 2000 ------------------ - From a DOS prompt, run: ipconfig /all Windows 95 or 98 ---------------- - Start > Run... - Enter: winipcfg - Click on OK. The ethernet address is shown on the Adapter Address line. 4. You are done. Need More Help? --------------- Be sure to look at the Installation Guide for your system for more detailed instructions.
