Configuration
|
Genesys is a modular environment. The minimum software requirement for almost all other modules is simply W1410L Genesys Core.
You can configure Genesys two easy steps:
- Minimum: you need an environment, such as W1410L Genesys Core, or any application bundle that includes Genesys Core
- Add any of 20 additional synthesis, simulation, and accessory modules under $10k (US), now or at a later date, as budget allows
Licenses to use Genesys can be purchased at affordable prices, with the lowest cost of annual ownership in the RF EDA industry.
Some configurations of Genesys are also available on an annual subscription basis. Please inquire if this option makes sense for you.

Licensing Options
|
Genesys can be licensed in "nodelocked" and "network-licensed" configurations.
- Nodelocked software is secured to a USB hardware key, which may be moved from computer to computer (an "Eagleware key"). This is the default nodelocked licensing option for
Genesys.
If you prefer a keyless option, Genesys can also be secured to the hardware LAN ID of your computer, so that the USB key is never lost or broken. Please request
"ADS-style" licensing from Business Support, either on your quotation, or after your purchase. This is the same style of licensing for demonstration and evaluation usage.
- Networked licensing (NLS) allows a workgroup to share the software more easily. Genesys can be secured using one of two floating license servers: the "Eagleware" license server
(Windows servers only), and "ADS-style" license servers (Windows, Linux, and Unix license servers).
- Demonstration licensing for Genesys is delivered using keyless Demo Tokens, which are secured for a short period of time to the LAN ID of your Windows PC. If you have received a
Genesys "Demo Token" (a unique number given only to you, and usable once), you can use an internet connection to unlock your Genesys software for a limited time. A generous period to
explore the latest release allows you to configure the exact modules and support that will give your workgroup a productivity advantage. Learn more about Software Evaluation.

Hardware and Operating System Requirements
|
Genesys requires the following
- Windows Operating System
- Microsoft Vista, XP64, XP, 2000 and 2003, with recent updates
- Genesys runs on both 32-bit and 64-bit platforms
- The PLL and TLINE Synthesis modules do not support WinXP64 or Windows Vista
- 600MB of free disk space
- 512MB of RAM (1GB RAM and higher is recommended)
- Administrator privileges, during installation
- License file (or demo token if evaluating) or Internet access
- A USB Hardware security key optional, but recommended for nodelocked users. A hardware key makes it easy to share the Genesys software between users in a workgroup, or home office.
However, to provide faster service for evaluation users, evaluation licenses are secured to the LAN ID of your PC.
