A key advantage of Momentum over other planar electromagnetic simulators is its complete integration into the Advanced Design System (ADS) environment. This allows users of ADS to quickly access electromagnetic analysis, and new users to learn a common interface for both electromagnetic and circuit analysis.

The Momentum user interface combines flexibility and ease of use. The main menu structures the key steps needed in a logical and intuitive manner. For example, once the analysis is performed, a single command is executed to view S-parameter data.

This progressive series of five screen images from Momentum shows the design progression and use-model of Momentum: a schematic can generate a layout, which can mesh the geometry, which can in turn simulate the geometry and produce S-parameters. These S-parameters can be used as an element back in a schematic simulation.
