This live, interactive e-Learning course provides a detailed presentation of WLAN 802.11a technology and its implementation in Agilent's Advanced Design System (ADS). Pricing is kept low by using web technology to deliver the training.
The course begins with a discussion of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM) as the enabling technology for WLAN applications. The 802.11a-compliant signal source implementation in ADS is then presented. System level measurements like Tx EVM and Rx BER measurements are also covered for both transmitters and receivers. Connected Solutions applications for WLAN systems are part of the hands-on labs completed by the students. WLAN signals are downloaded into the ESG signal generator and read back into ADS using the 89600 VSA. Each student will be provided with a prototype board for measurements. Classes are available at convenient times for students worldwide.
Interfacing ADS with 89600 VSA (reading signals from VSA into ADS)
Course Format
The course consists of five live class sessions, a student workbook in Adobe Acrobat format, and a prototype board for making measurements. Students are introduced to a module's topics through a live interactive hour and a half lecture and demonstration of Advanced Design System. Students then work on a lab exercise on their own using ADS, the prototype board supplied by Agilent, and their own instruments for measurements. Students return to the web classroom the next day to discuss the lab exercise and ask any questions they may have. The next topic is then discussed.

Onsite Courses and Consulting
One of the most effective - and cost-efficient - training solutions is to bring training onsite. Onsite training can reduce travel costs and time-away-from-task, and it can greatly increase the number of students who can attend a course.
Onsite courses can also be tailored to the specific needs of a workgroup or company or combined with one-on-one or group consulting.
