PDF Files Not Viewable/Not Found

Problem Statement. Occasionally, Adobe Acrobat PDF files on the Agilent EEsof EDA web site appear to be not viewable using a web browser. Either a blank screen appears or the file is described as not found.

This problem has been reported with a number of different browsers, operating systems, and Agilent EEsof EDA PDF files - and no pattern has emerged.

At least, every reported instance has been checked on different combinations of browsers, operating systems, and hardware, and we have verified both the presence of each file on the Agilent web server and the fact that it actually is displayed.

In the technical support area of the Adobe Systems web site, there is a discussion of this problem, with various possible workarounds. But as yet none of them seems to have worked in all cases.

Best Workaround: Saving the File to Disc. The best workaround is recommended by Adobe for all systems. Save the file to the computer's hard disc and then read that file using Adobe Acrobat locally rather than through the web browser.

To save the PDF file, instead of clicking on the link to the file in the usual way (with the left-hand mouse button), click on it with the right-hand mouse button and then choose the command Save Target As (Internet Explorer) or Save Link As (Netscape) or its equivalent.

This will let you choose a directory into which to download the file, where you can view it locally using the Adobe Acrobat reader.

Request the File by E-Mail. Any of the PDF files on the Agilent EEsof EDA web site can be sent to you by e-mail, as an attachment to an e-mail message.

If you are unable to download a PDF file from the Agilent EEsof EDA web site, send us an e-mail message telling which file (or files) you would like to have and we will send them to you directly.

It would help in our continuing effort to solve this problem if you would also include the URL of the page or file that is causing difficulty.
